Rear Suspension Lowering

As promised here are the pics of the rear suspension shackle relocation. As you can see compaired to the old photo there is a marked difference in the height of the upper shackle location. This translates to a lower (by almost 4")rear suspension height.

Another view. A notch was cut in the old crossmember to allow full movement of the shackle.

Trailer Hitch Installation

I have also been working on the new hitch setup. What you see here is a brand new Ford Explorer Class III hitch. I cut the end mounting brackets off and widened it 4" using the two peices of heavy duty square tubing. It was then permently welded to the frame.

Cut-outs were made in the frame so the hitch could be run through the frame rails where it becomes a very strong rear crossmember.
